Halloween TARDIS Costumes

Updated on January 30, 2015

Grab The TARDIS ~ It's Gonna Be A Whovian Halloween!

It isn't rocket science, it's just quantum physics! Okay, I wouldn't go that far, but The Doctor probably would! Some people are a bit...out there! Out there does make for WONDERFUL ideas in Halloween costuming, however.

The TARDIS provides many wonderful costume ideas for men, women, and children. It can be made from one of my favorites, cardboard boxes, or fashioned into a dress or suit, complete with a hat. So many wonderful, quirky additions can be added to make this a unique costume, the angels would feast! Grab your comfy chair and prepare to consume!

My Forever Fantastic Confusion

Ever since I can remember I wanted to travel through time! I have never understood it - - - EVER! In fact when people ask me what I don't understand in this world, quantum physics is one of about three or four things I list that I can't seem to grasp AT ALL! I understand more about the difference in nuclear fission and fusion than I will ever fathom about time travel, I fear. And I'm not that smart, I just don't understand it. BUT I so want to!

So in the 80s I wanted a DeLorean so I could travel Back to the Future and now I want the TARDIS. Since I can't have one, what better way to get into the spirit of things than to dress up as the TARDIS for Halloween? Who knows, if the moon is right and the wind and if I wish upon a falling star...

I'm not just a Time Lord.
I'm the last of the Time Lords.

So you want to be a Time Lord? - Well you're gonna need the TARDIS!

At least if you want to be one for Halloween! This is one option ~ the real (kinda) deal and it allows you to invite people to join you, depending on how frisky you're feeling! Sadly, you're going to have to build it yourself! I hope YOU have your sonic screwdriver handy! Or at least a roll or six of duct tape!

Make note of some things you might need:

  • Cardboard (lighter than wood), ruler, box cutter
  • Dark Blue Paint, also Black and White, + a drop cloth or many trash bags!
  • Couple of Handles (for the doors)
  • Tape, glue, hot glue
  • Hat so the top of your head can be the light (unless you prefer to hide inside and scare people! ohhhhhhh!) and sharpies to draw on it if needed

Cardboard TARDIS!

Maybe boxy isn't your thing...maybe you'd prefer a more feminine touch? You can still be The TARDIS and wear a cute or even sexy dress! Below you'll find a fabulous how-to video on making one and you can alter it or glam it up to fit your level of sexiness! Now go out there and WOW the trench coat off your own Doctor Who!

Best Series?

Dr. Who ~ Original Series (1963-1989) or Revived Series (2005 - Present)...Which is better?
